Links Golf Club, Newmarket: Saturday 16th August 2008
The weather forecast for Newmarket Heath on Saturday 16th August had varied throughout the week from rain, lots of rain, some rain, all the way through to longer periods of rain, and it was therefore with some apprehension that there foregathered on the first tee shortly after eight ‘o’ clock that morning the followers of St Neots GC and Bourn GC – the two clubs who had valiantly fought their way through to the fiftieth anniversary final of the competition which is so thoroughly enjoyed by all the participants.

Our opponents for our fourth round Anglian League match were Lincolnshire on home soil at Saffron Walden Golf Club. As usual Lincolnshire brought a very strong team.
