CAGU U16 win the Combined Counties Trophy, over Suffolk and Leicestershire and Rutland |

Cambridgeshire U16 boys sealed a fantastic county season by winning the Combined Counties Trophy on Sunday. They beat a strong Leicestershire and Rutland team by 1.5 points and Suffolk by 4.5 points in a three way match and were the first of the three counties to take the trophy.
Royston Golf Club hosted the event and provided the most perfect setting and weather conditions of the season.
Two more golfers earned county colours, Gareth Owens (Brampton) needed just one more win this season to take his total to three, which he did against Tom Pettifer of Suffolk and George Howard (Menzies, Cambridge) brought his total number of county wins up to three by winning both of his matches beating both Vinay Mistry from Leicestershire and Rutland and Josh Cottrell of Suffolk.

The Inter Club Team Trophy had to be abandoned this year due to poor weather and could not be rescheduled.
The Team to go to represent Cambridgeshire in The English Champion Club event next year will be decided at 2009 Championship.
