On a freezing cold day, pure dedication got 8 elite squad juniors up to Lincolnshire’s Woodhall Spa for the fifth winter training day of the Keith Williams squad.  Brave parent drivers managed to get through icy roads and weave through abandoned cars on the way to deliver their charges by 8.15am for an early start on the driving range.

The focus of the first part of the day was re-engaging full swing technique after a long period when training and practice were at their most difficult. As the day went on the thaw came and the softening Woodhall short game area gave us further improvements in the scoring game.

We did show up some adults while we were there. The Lincolnshire county adult squad and their coaches gave up on the range after only one hour to run off to play on the courses. Unfortunately the cold weather affected the camera mechanism and despite trying, we were unable to get a photograph of the fleeing Lincolnshire backs.

With the greatest hopes in the world, we will now be able to continue uninterrupted the rest of our junior training season but those of you out there on the practice range are asked to continue to make your practice purposeful and competitive so that we come out of winter raring to go at the opposition with better technique !
