CAGU Juniors win in first match of the year

On Sunday 7th of April a mixed team of U12s and U14s took on Bedfordshire at Ely GC in their first inter-county match of the year. The format devised to encourage young players and introduce them to county formats, was 9 holes of Greensomes followed by 9 holes of singles.

Although the course was perfectly presented the weather was awful and the first 9 holes was marred by torrential rain. Despite the conditions Cambridgeshire showed their strength and depth by winning every match and went into the back 9 with a 10-0 lead.

Although the weather relented for the back 9 the CAGU Boys ambitions did not and they showed some dazzling play to win this the back 9, 13-7. The final result was CAGU 23 Bedfordshire 7.
