Diss jets in to win Seniors winter invitational

Twenty six seniors beat the Christmas blues to play in the Winters Invitational held at Saffron Walden Golf Club. The course was set up immaculately for a winter’s day and the hospitality was superb.

After a winter training camp in Iceland, Kevin Diss, jetting back the day before delivered the best round of the day with a 1 under par 71. He went out in 34 and came back in 37 with 4 birdies on the card. Neil Hughes ran him close with a gross 73 going out in 35 and coming back in 38 shots.


In 3rd place was Keith Moore, the 2018 Seniors county champion, with a gross 76. The handicap prize went
to Neil Hughes with a nett 70. Nearest the pin on the 11th went to Alan Todd and on the 18th it went to Gareth Jones.

The Seniors now go back to their coaches till the Seniors spring meeting at Gog Magog GC on Thursday 21 st March and the first friendly against Essex on Sun 21 st April.
