Home victory for Davies in new year series

Brampton Pk GC was the setting for the second of the winter series, in the run up to new year. Twenty two players played off the back tees, in what proved to be a big test after the Christmas festivities.

Owen Davies proved to be a worthy winner, notching up 4 birdies and going out in 36 shots and coming back in 33 for a gross 69. In second place was Toby Crisp, going out in 37 and coming back in 34 shots to finish with a 71. In third place Craig Thorburn shot a 73 and won on card back from first series winner Luke Ryan.

In the under 21 category, Alfie Guy-Pinkney won with a 75 which included two birdies on the demanding last two holes. He won by one shot from Isaac Rowlands who shot a 76. In the fourball which ran alongside the scratch medal Tom Rogers and Luke Ryan won this with a score of 66. The win by Davies puts him in 4th position in the overall standings.

After Ryans’ 4th place in the latest series he maintains a 4pts lead over Toby Crisp in first place.

The third series takes place on Sun 20th January at Links GC,Newmarket
