After last year’s loss v Essex at St Neots the seniors drove down the M11 to make up for last year at Romford GC.
In this singles match captain, Goodman sent out the top four strongest players first. Kevin Diss, after nearly holing in one on the third hole by 2 inches never looked back and won 2&1 against Boaman.
Jeremy Baldwin playing steady golf won 2&1. Terry Ryan won 2&1 and John Yuill, after holing a 10ft putt on the 18th, ran out a winner by 1 up.
Unfortunately, Neil Hughes lost 6&5 before his club mate, Allan Campbell from Gog Magog won 2& 1 which included 2 birdies.
Peter Laughlin lost 4&3 to Partridge before Bob Setchell, being 2 down with 6 to play, par birdied the 17th and 18th to win 2 up.
Captain Graham Goodman raced to 4up after 4 holes before his opponent par homed to all square the match. In the final pairing Ian Robinson lost 4&3.
The final result was a 6.5-3.5 victory for CAGU.
