About Junior's golf

CAGU are keen to provide opportunities to Junior golfers at all levels – from those who just wish to enjoy a sport, to golfers who may aspire to ultimately become professional golfers.

All activities are supervised by approved staff who have been thoroughly vetted and who follow comprehensive Safeguarding Policies and Procedures which may be viewed in the  Governance section of the website.

A wide range of activities are available with competitions for all age levels and all abilities and this is supported by a programme of professional coaching.

The normal entry to the County Juniors is via a parent/junior evening held in the autumn at which the coaching and admin teams are introduced, the yearly programme outlined and with the opportunity to register and to complete the required Safeguarding Forms. However, at any time feel free to contact the Junior Organiser or one of the coaches who will be pleased to assist.

County Matches

As players progress, they may be selected for one of the County teams. In this case they will be provided with County kit and will travel with a team to compete against other Counties in regional and England Golf qualifying events. Ultimately if their ability permits, they may be selected to play in the Mens County A and B teams.

Coaching

The coaching programme is carried out by a number of professionally qualified PGA coaches. It is conducted mainly in age groups however these are not cast in stone and pupils will be moved through groups based upon ability. Coaches also travel to our County events to provide advice and support at the venue during practice rounds.
